Battery Life

battery life and heatsinks, and  have to hand it to Lenovo, even though we saw in the teardown earlier that the lock 159 rh8 case had even more room for a bigger battery than its current 58.5 Wh battery, that's not the case the use of low light enabled me
running the laptop for 5 hours and 24 minutes before shutting down while playing in performance mode, with the screen set to 165 HZ it managed to run for 5 hours and 21 minutes.
It's not bad, it's a Hardy laptop.

Design Analysis

Build Quality

the Lenovo lock 15 IR h8 is a predominantly plastic laptop that has a metal top

plate and cover it feels somewhat ruged to an extent the plastic body is sturdy and grippy and The Styling straddles the line between being shaped like a gaming device but utilizing much more tasteful Donal materials it's like one of those Mustangs that don't have all them garish

decals on it it looks like a sports car sure but it doesn't advertise it as heavily it measures 36 CM wide 26 CM deep and 2.5 cm tall and weighs around 5.2 lb on its own and a little bit over

6 lb with the charger it's big it's somewhat heavy but that is to be mostly expected with gaming laptops nowadays build quality is also what we normally see with Lenovo and Legion laptops

nothing creaks on the body and the screen doesn't Bobble when typing and it flexes very little it's built really well and  have no complains about it but overall  can get behind the build

of the lock 15 ir8 it is huge it is moderately heavy heavy but  feel that it's a worthwhile tax to pay for a solidly built albeit all plastic laptop moving on down to the keyboard.

Display and visuals

The best feature of the Lenovo laptop is its customizable display options. You can choose between a budget-friendly 1080p 60 HZ panel or a high-performance 2560 X 1440p 165 HZ LCD panel with a 3 millisecond response time and 350 nits of brightness. The panel supports Nvidia gsync and has a dual mode, allowing it to run at either 165 HZ or a lower power 83 HZ mode. While the laptop is responsive and bright for media consumption and gaming, its substandard response times may not be ideal for competitive esports titles. Overall, the laptop is a solid choice, especially if paired with the RTX 4060 version that offers better performance and support for higher frame rates.

Keyboard and Trackpad

Keyboard and trackpad and trackpad, this is familiar territory and it's basically the same thing
The layout and keys are the same as all its siblings and the higher-end Legion series, but there are some cutbacks in features, no snappy RGB lighting, only 3-zone options, no fingerprint scanner, no keyboard flex, but you don't need to worry too much. Also, the huge trackpad is a nice carryover from the higher-priced models in the Lenovo series, and unless you absolutely want a snappy RGB keyboard, there's nothing to complain about the Lock 15 ir8 here.

Connectivity options and ports

Its ports are groundbreaking with the sheer number of ports that each laptop has. Starting from the left, we have a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port that supports DisplayPort 1.4 output and up to 140 WS power (40W increase), going beyond its previous generation sibling.
Also, on the right side, we have an integrated 3.5mm headphone and microphone jack, with a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type E port and a webcam E-shutter switch.
There
is a hardware circuit breaker, and on the back, it has all the great features, including a 170W reversible DCN, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A, HDM 2.1, and the best thing ever, 4 G45 Ethernet ports, so Lenovo has consistently done a great job.
The ports on the laptop are great, especially
There
is no difference between the connectivity of the gaming model and the Lock 15 ir8, it's great Work, Lenovo, something else.

Operating system and software

The Lenovo gaming software bundled with Game Pass is a nice addition to the software. It also includes Xbox Legion software, providing a budget-friendly option. The laptop offers three thermal modes: quiet, balance, and performance, which you can switch between using function Q. The allocation of power to the GPU and CPU varies in each mode. The AMD machine, equipped with an 8845 HS processor and a 4060 GPU, performs well even in silent mode, allowing for efficient gaming. The laptop supports GPU overclocking up to 200 MHz on clocks and 400 MHz on VRAM. The system updates, including BIOS updates and driver downloads, can be obtained through the software. RGB settings are limited to white, with options for low, high, and off brightness levels.
